Man can never have to many tools!!
The top one is made by Herters (Cabelas). The shape is called an improved bowie. Fits the hand well. Should come in handy for something. The boning knife is a Chuchi Pilatus, a Swiss company. Picked up both of them at a second hand store for $0.54 each :thumb: After a good scrubbing and attacking them with the Lansky they both are holding a really good edge. The bottom one is a new Kershaw "fillet" knife, or so its labeled. Much to rigid and large for a proper fillet but a dandy slicer! Didnt know it until I got it home that the Kershaw is made in China :twitch: Oh well... Used it on some flank steak the other night. Has a nice well shaped rubber grip and the shape of the cutting edge is user friendly.

Within a few days trying someones homemade beef snack sticks, I purchased a grinder, mixer and stuffer for sausage making. The cost ratio at this point is pretty steep of equipment to food savings.

Hmm it's been awhile since any additions. Does a deck count? I needed a bbq area. My sidewalk was getting full. My wife was getting peeved about that.

Mine was a carlisle insulated food holder. It's made bbq more enjoyable and comps less stressful.

Just got a 22.5 WSM, free to me from saving up my rewards. It's begging for a Cajun Bandit rotisserie.:thumb:

Got a WGA after lurking archives of phu and others old cooks.....it will come in handy since 90% of the time I'm just cooking for 2-4 people! Save some fuel.

we did a deck too. best thing was it was the wife's idea so it didn't count as bbq.

i finally had a chance to use my carlisle. put a ham and turkey in there. went to SIL for 5 hours. came back and all was still hot. now i have to figure out a way to get 8 briskets in there.
the LAST things I bought was the Red Box Smoker and a folding side shelf for my Abe's.

Best part about our new deck is my wife was happy because it was under $15.00. Not a typo really it was less than $15.00 to build one. We had the nails from when we built our new kitchen. Got the wood, which is all treated wood, free from my inlaws that wanted an old tree house torn down. The wood was all fine. It needs stained but for less than $15.00 I can't complain. It's an 8'x10' floating deck. Not large but it really has improved our backyard.

Got a Lavatools Thermowand, with a 4 second response I won't be cooking my hand like I did with the cheap($10) probe that took 10+ seconds. Haven't used it yet other a test in boiling water, read 212.5*, close enough for me. $25 from Amazon.

that is awesome Rusty! decks make a big difference. ours is attached to the back of the house but covers an area that had a steep pitch and was a pia to mow.
