The 2024 college football season is setting up to be a monumental season. Not only is there massive conference realignment across the country, but the College Football Playoff is expanding to 12 teams.
The expanded playoff, combined with the growth of the transfer portal and NIL, has fans of numerous programs convinced that this is the year they can make the playoff and make a run for the national championship. FSU is one of those teams as the Seminoles have done a great job landing impact players out of the portal and this offseason was no different.
They went out and landed 15 total players, including 10 four-star prospects and quarterback DJ Uiagalelei. The addition of the veteran quarterback stabilized the most important position as the Seminoles move into the post Jordan Travis era.
Uiagalelei can help keep FSU right in the middle of the race for the ACC and a spot in the expanded Playoff. Here is a look at the 15 teams with the best odds to win the 2024 college football championship, according to FanDuel.

Texas A&M AggiesMaria Lysaker-USA TODAY Sports
FanDuel Odds: +4000
2023 Record: 7-6
The Aggies have a new head coach in Mike Elko but there is optimism that he can hit the ground running. Is this finally the year that Texas A&M puts it all together?

Missouri TigersNelson Chenault-USA TODAY Sports
FanDuel Odds: +3500
2023 Record: 11-2
They have to replace star running back Cody Shrader but the combination of quarterback Brady Cook and wide receiver Luther Burden III should keep the offense humming.

Tennessee VolunteersJeremy Reper-USA TODAY Sports
FanDuel Odds: +3000
2023 Record: 9-4
Josh Heupel has proven to be a tremendous hire by Tennessee and with five-star quarterback Nico Iamaleava ready to start, the Vols could be dangerous.

Clemson Tigers© Ken Ruinard / staff / USA TODAY NETWORK
FanDuel Odds: +3000
2023 Record: 9-4
Is this the year that Clemson gets back to the playoffs? They have clearly taken a step back under Dabo Swinney since the transfer portal and NIL took over college football. This will be a big year for them with quarterback Cade Klubnik coming back.
11
Florida State SeminolesMelina Myers-USA TODAY Sports
FanDuel Odds: +2800
2023 Record: 13-1
The Seminoles lost numerous stars from last year’s ACC-winning team but Mike Norvell once again raided the transfer portal and built another good roster. New quarterback DJ Uiagalelei gives them a shot and if he can reach his ceiling, watch out.

Notre Dame Fighting Irish© GREG SWIERCZ / USA TODAY NETWORK
FanDuel Odds: +2200
2023 Record: 10-3
Notre Dame landed former Duke quarterback Riley Leonard out of the transfer portal as they look to make a serious push for the expanded playoff. If they can win the big game this year then they have a great chance to make the playoffs.

Penn State Nittany LionsMatthew O’Haren-USA TODAY Sports
FanDuel Odds: +2200
2023 Record: 10-3
Speaking of teams that struggle in big games, Penn State has dominated the middle and bottom of the Big Ten under James Franklin but has been unable to compete with Ohio State and Michigan. They have the potential to change that this year, but they have to prove they belong.
8
Michigan Wolverines© David Rodriguez Munoz / USA TODAY NETWORK
FanDuel Odds: +2000
2023 Record: 15-0
The Wolverines will be a fascinating team this year, Jim Harbough rode off into the sunset after winning a National Championship and now Sherrone Moore is in charge. They had a ton of attrition from last year’s team and have not been very active in the portal, is a rebuilding year coming or will they keep on winning?
7
Ole Miss RebelsBrett Davis-USA TODAY Sports
FanDuel Odds: +1500
2023 Record: 11-2
Ole Miss is absolutely loaded this year and has gone all in with NIL and the transfer portal. This is the best team Lane Kiffin has ever had and expect them to make some noise in the SEC.
6
LSU TigersMatt Pendleton-USA TODAY Sports
FanDuel Odds: +1500
2023 Record: 10-3
The Brian Kelly era in Baton Rouge has been interesting, they have had some great offense but their defense was horrendous last season and they have to replace Heiman-winning quarterback Jayden Daniels and star wide receivers Malik Nakers and Brian Thomas Jr. This is a big year for the Tigers who could have a tough time justifying these odds.
5
Alabama Crimson Tide© Gary Cosby Jr.-Tuscaloosa News / USA TODAY NETWORK
FanDuel Odds: +1300
2023 Record: 12-2
Nick Saban, the greatest football coach of all time, has retired. Kalen Deboer looks like a great hire by Alabama but it can be tough to follow a legend. Getting Jalen Milroe back was big but they will need him to take another step to be a legit contneder.
4
Oregon Ducks© Ben Lonergan/The Register-Guard / USA TODAY NETWORK
FanDuel Odds: +850
2023 Record: 12-2
Dan Lanning has done a great job building Oregon into a contender and they walk into the Big Ten ready to win. Losing Bo Nix hurts but getting Dillon Gabriel was a great move, expect the offense to keep on scoring at will.
3
Texas Longhorns© Aaron E. Martinez/American-Statesman / USA TODAY NETWORK
FanDuel Odds: +700
2023 Record: 12-2
Texas is the only team from last year’s playoff to retain its head coach and this could very well be their year. Steve Sarkisian is one of the best play-callers in college football and if he can get the most out of Quinn Ewers they should be right back playing for a spot in the championship.
2
Ohio State Buckeyes© Adam Cairns/Columbus Dispatch / USA TODAY NETWORK
FanDuel Odds: +450
2023 Record: 11-2
Their Michigan problem may have been solved for them and it is time for Ryan Day and Ohio State to get back to winning the Big Ten. The Buckeyes did a great job using the portal this offseason to add elite players and could very well be co-favorites to win the national championship.

Georgia BulldogsNathan Ray Seebeck-USA TODAY Sports
FabDuel Odds: +300
2023 Record: 13-1
The Bulldogs missed the playoff last year and it is hard to imagine them doing that in back-to-back years. Carson Beck looks like one of the best quarterbacks in the country and we know Kirby Smart is going to have one of the best defenses in the country.
