Whip up a batch of my popular, tried and true ultimate peanut butter cookie recipe!
This is a soft and chewy peanut butter cookie that is to die for.
I created the recipe for these peanut butter cookies when my local Tim Horton’s stopped carrying their amazing chunky peanut cookies.
These cookies taste just as good as Tim Horton’s peanut butter cookies, in fact some say they taste even better!
If you are a fan of peanut butter, these cookies are a must. I have used this recipe for years and it never disappoints.

How to Make the Ultimate Peanut Butter Cookie
Preheat your oven and prep your baking sheet.
In a bowl you will mix up the sugar, butter, and peanut butter till creamy.
Now you will incorporate your dry ingredients.
Then fold in the peanut butter chips and nuts.
Scoop up your cookies and place on the baking sheet.
Bake as directed then place your homemade cookies on a cooling rack.
Do I need to chill cookie dough?
For this recipe you do not need to chill the dough. Just whip up, place on a cookie sheet, press down and bake. An easy cookie recipe that is simple to make!
Why do peanut butter cookies have fork marks?
Peanut butter cookies are known for the fork Mark imprint. You will find that peanut butter cookies are dense. If baked without marks it will not bake evenly.
Pressing down the marks allows for an even bake. Without it you will find your cookies would not cook evenly.
Why are my peanut butter cookies hard?
If your peanut butter cookies are hard it means you over cooked them a bit. Peanut butter cookies are delicate.
Take the cookies out as soon as they are no longer wet or offer a raw dough center. Then let them sit on the cookie sheet for a minute to finish cooking. Then remove and place on a cooling rack to stop the cooking process on the pan.
Can I Use Natural Peanut Butter?
If you want to use natural peanut butter, the key is to really stir the peanut butter. With natural peanut butter all the oil is at the top of the jar.
Really mix it together before you scoop and measure, or it can negatively affect your cookie dough.
Storing Cookies
Peanut butter cookies can be stored at room temperature on the counter. Place cooled cookies in an airtight container or sealable bag.
The cookies can store for up to a week.
Can You Freeze Peanut Butter Cookies
In terms of freezing, you can freeze the cookies.
Place in the proper container and freeze for up to 3 months. Then thaw on the counter or toss in the microwave to defrost faster.
