Help - MyLibrary | Hal Leonard Online (2024)

About MyLibrary

MyLibrary is a place that stores content for Hal Leonard publications. Its a quick and easy way to access digital books, as well as audio, video and/or other files that go along with physical books. MyLibrary is cloud-based so you can access the files from any device in any location.

How to Access Content

Page 1 of the book youve purchased contains a 16-digit code. Enter the code in the box above that says "Enter Access Code". (If you have purchased a Hal Leonard Digital Book, then your email receipt will contain a 16-digit code.)

Access codes are unique to each purchased copy of a book. Content can be accessed whenever you want, and multiple times. Only the unique code is needed; no other registration is required. MyLibrary is compatible with PC, Mac and mobile devices.

You can enter your code into the website with or without dashes.

When you've successfully submitted your access code, the content page for that book will appear. You'll know you've reached the right page because the cover image and title will match your book. Sections of content will also be listed on this page. Simply click or tap the section titles to show the content underneath them; you'll see the files that match the content listed in your book's Table of Contents.

Play, View, & Download

  • Publications with “Online Audio Access Included” will have Play links to the right of each track. To view all of your Play links, simply click “Expand All”.
  • Play links will open up an audio or video player window through which you can interact with the content. For audio playback, our new PLAYBACK+ player will be displayed allowing you to adjust the speed, pitch, balance and set loop points per your preference. PLAYBACK+ works best with the following desktop browsers: Chrome, Safari, Edge, and Firefox. If using Internet Explorer, only basic playback functions (play, forward and backward) will appear. iPhones/iPads require iOS 9.3 or above.
  • View links will open up a PDF document in another tab or browser window, allowing you to read while accessing other content on the site.
  • Download links will start the download process for the file, allowing you to access them locally. iOS device users will need to sync using a desktop computer or an iCloud account; or, use a third-party app to facilitate a download. See the FAQ below.
  • If your item has a Download All button, you can download a zipfile of all content for one book at a time.

Creating Your Own Library

If you own multiple Hal Leonard publications, you have the option to create your own library and combine files from all titles. Its a convenient way to keep track of all your content in once place. You can sort by song, artist, book title and more. Also, if you plan to retrieve content often you only need to enter codes once, then theyre saved for future access. To set up your own library, just click on the Create Library link.

FAQ

Q: I own lots of Hal Leonard publications with CDs. Can I now access the media online?
Sorry, but we have no way of supplying codes for previously purchased publications. If your book was purchased before 2014 and/or does not have a MyLibrary code printed in or on the product, the media is not setup for online access.
Q: I'm trying to enter my access code but I receive a message that says I've entered an invalid code. What's wrong?
Check the following to make sure that the access code is being entered properly:
  • Make sure youve entered the access code correctly
  • All access codes are 16 characters long. Make sure you are including all of them in the access code field
  • You may enter your access code with or without dashes (both ways will work) or with spaces, but other extra characters wont work
Q: I already have an account on HalLeonard.com. Can I use this on MyLibrary, even though I don't have a username?
Yes! If you are already a HalLeonard.com user, your email is your username, and your password stays the same.
Q: Sometimes when I try to click Play or Download on the item pages, I get sent back to the main page of the site. Why is this?
If you have been inactive for 30 minutes, our system will close your session to protect your content. Simply reenter your access code and the item page will reappear.
Q: On my iPad and iPhone, the Download links and Download All button just open another browser tab; sometimes they just play the track, but they don't download the file. How come this doesn't really download?

For iOS 11 and higher: iOS 11 and higher include an app called the Files App. This app allows you to save and extract zipfiles to your iPad or iPhone devices if you have set up an iCloud account.

For iOS 10/iOS 9: iOS, the operating system on the iPad and iPhone, will not allow you to download any file (zipfiles, audio, video, PDF, etc) directly in iTunes or to other apps. You can download normally on your desktop computer, saving the files to iTunes. Then, you can sync your iOS device directly to your computer or sync your iTunes content using an iCloud account.

We also provide audio files as Play links, which allow you to stream tracks directly from your iphone/ipad. This does not require you to download files or apps.
