<![CDATA[The Eagle-Tribune: Obituaries]]> (2)

Lawrence - Judith Ann (Barry) Hill, beloved wife, mother, grandmother and friend, passed away suddenly August 2, 2023. She was born September 24,1943, in Lawrence, MA to Paul O. Barry and Mildred A. Burns.Born an only child, she dreamed of building a large family full of love and laughter. Consisting of her husband Kevin of nearly 56 years, her children: Paula and Shawn Maxwell, Barry and Shara Hill, Kathy and Rob LeMay, Dan and Rachel Hill, her grandchildren: Laura and Adam Upham, Amy and Ryan Collins, Weston LeMay, Cora LeMay, Emma Hill, Liam Hill, Iris Hill and Rose Hill, and a great-grandbaby on the way, we know that she was able to see her dream fulfilled.A lifelong teacher and educator, she would regularly recognize her first grade students some 30 to 50 years later like it was yesterday. She could find a friend in the most obscure of places, and if she didn't find someone she already knew, you could be certain she would make a friend before she left. There was a calming hum to her energy that would coax even the most stubborn periwinkle out of its shell. As our resident social butterfly, she loved her clubs and groups of friends. You could find her playing games (bingo, cards, mahjong, etc), quilting, crafting, or reading for her book club on any given day.Once she retired, she and Kevin were able to pursue their wanderlust and travel the world. Though she had many adventures on their travels, her favorite was always going back to her roots in Ireland.Judy is someone who was considered a pillar of her community, a friend to all, and the heart of our family. Always remember, when you see a dragonfly, you can feel certain she is near.Flowers and plants brought a lot of joy to Judy's life. Feel free to continue that joy by sending a loved one an arrangement in her memory. If you would like to make a donation in her memory, please make it to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital in her name.Services for Judy will be held in September. Search the Facebook Group: "Celebrating the Life of Judy Hill" for more details.

<![CDATA[The Eagle-Tribune: Obituaries]]> (18)

Methuen - Doris Lorraine (Lacroix) Thibodeau, 85, of Methuen, MA passed away on January 19, 2024, following a brief illness at Holy Family Hospital. The daughter of the late Leonard and Amanda (Lebeau) Lacroix was born at home in Lawrence, MA. Doris grew up on Oxford St. where she met her future husband, Napoleon Thibodeau, who was literally, the boy next door. She also made many lifelong friends there. Doris was in her own words a "tomboy". Growing up she played basketball and was proud to be the "batgirl" for the boy's baseball teams. Doris attended St Anne's Elementary School and St. Anne's High School. She was a proud member of the Class of 1956. She and most of her classmates remained close and attended all the reunions from the 5th through the 65th She attended school in Boston for 1 year to become a stenographer and at 19 she married Napoleon (George, Nap, Pal) on February 1, 1958, and remained married until his passing just over 25 years ago. Doris was an active member of the St. Anne's PTA in Lawrence. She was a volunteer Girls Basketball Coach, worked bingo every Friday night and chaperoned countless field trips. She babysat and helped raise and form many children besides her own. She was known as the awesome babysitter. After raising her family, she worked seasonally at the IRS in Andover for over 30 years, retiring only because they closed that office. She had countless friends. There was the "Lunch Bunch" as well as the "Birthday Bunch." She was known by several names: Mom, Memere, Doris, Doe and Auntie Doe. She was famous for sending cards for EVERY occasion: Birthdays, Anniversaries, Valentine's Day, Easter, Halloween, Thanksgiving and Christmas. She would send upwards of 200 cards per year. Hallmark will surely notice the drop in sales. Doris was a shopper's shopper. Her favorite hunting ground was the clearance aisle at Kohls. She used her coupons on senior discount days to come home with bargains she couldn't pass up. That would be followed by phone calls to find a home for the bargain. Her bargain shopping skills were honed while raising 5 children on a very tight budget. She simply couldn't buy something that wasn't on sale. More than anything, Doris loved spending time with family and friends, especially at the beach. Whether it was countless day trips to Salisbury Beach when her family was young, or weeklong stays at Old Orchard Beach or Cape Cod when they were adults, the days were always circled on her calendar. Salt water and jumping waves are good for the soul. It keeps you feeling young. Doris's last birthday was a weeklong celebration at Old Orchard Beach surrounded by family. Doris attended daily Mass as weather and health permitted, otherwise she would live stream Mass on her computer, responding and singing aloud. She was a woman of great faith, saying her rosary daily with the intentions of family, friends and neighbors ever present in her heart and on her lips. She fought the battle of recurrent metastatic breast cancer along with Dr. Mehta and the fine staff at Dana Farber. The fight took strength, courage, and determination. She inspired friends and family alike. She genuinely cared for those around her and tried to make their lives a little better, even when she grew tired and weak. Auntie Doe, as she was known by scores of nieces and nephews, will be sorely missed. She was selfless to the end, worrying about those who were worrying and praying for her. St. Francis said, "Preach the Gospel at all times, and if necessary, use words." Doris is predeceased by her husband Napoleon and son-in-law Jamie Keizl, her sisters Anita (Ambrose) Chocoquette, Annette (Leo) Morel, Lillian (Buddy) Walton, Yvette "Tootsie" (Albert) Arsenault. Brothers, Eugene Lacroix, Robert (Evelyn) Lacroix and Normand (Pauline) Lacroix. She is survived by her dear sister-in-law, Claire Lacroix. <![CDATA[The Eagle-Tribune: Obituaries]]> (31)

Fort Myers - On December 18, 2023 the sun set upon Lisa Anne (Trainor) Page, 64, of Fort Myers, FL, formerly of Salem, MA. She was the beautiful daughter of Olga (Senko) and Robert Trainer, sister to Michael and his wife, Kathy of Peabody, MA, Thomas and his wife Lisa of Wareham, MA and Kelly and her husband, Michael Clyne of Salem, MA"Gigi" was the loving wife of James Page (retired Detective Sergeant Salem Police) with whom she shared 24 great years of marriage.Lisa was born and raised in Salem and graduated Salem High, Class of 1977. In 2014 she and Jim moved to Fort Myers to start the next chapter in their lives. She promised the dogs a house with a swimming pool and by God they got one! She worked 37 years as the office manager and bookkeeper for Tache Real Estate in Salem starting on day one of the business. Lisa worked in that position remotely for the Tache family right up to the time of her passing. On November 10th Lisa started to feel fatigued from doing the simplest things. She sought treatment at an urgent care facility but on November 26th her condition required her to go to the emergency room where she was then admitted. On November 27th she was diagnosed with Stage 4 Spindle Cell Melanoma cancer. Test showed she had tumors on her lungs, liver and spleen. On December 10th she was discharged from the hospital to home under hospice care. On December 12th her oncologist informed us her cancer was so advanced (and rare) she could not be treated. Lisa opted to pass away at home. On the 18th the sun set on Lisa, at home, with her sister Kelly and husband Jim by her side and the dogs and cat curled up against her.Lisa leaves behind several nephews and nieces from the Trainor/Clyne and Page families as well as loving sisters and brothers-in-law. She also leaves behind (canine) daughters Sabella, Skylar and Sunnie and (feline) son Forrester.Lisa was predeceased by "kids" Maxxi, Sierra, Saba, Samanna, Phantom, Jackson, Thomas, and Maarten.Lisa will be remembered as being generous, kind, fun and funny, dedicated, loyal, loving to her family, both 2 and 4 legged, an expert at mixing up lyrics and quotes, a huge fan of dancing at a party and of course so very beautiful. But I will always remember Gigi as my best friend and the best thing that ever happened to me. Lisa loved to throw a great party, often planning months in advance down to the tiniest detail, like toothpicks that matched the napkins. She loved her pets, General Hospital and the occasional glass of champagne. There were no services following Lisa's passing. The family expects, against her wishes, to have a "Celebration of Life, Love and Lisa" in Salem sometime this spring. When that takes place bring your champagne and strawberries and be ready to dance, dance, dance! To Gigi from me - We didn't realize we were making memories, we just knew we were having fun!At Lisa's request, she has been cremated and no services. The family will celebrate Lisa in the spring/summer of 2024.

<![CDATA[Adam Aiken]]>https://obituaries.eagletribune.com/obituary/adam-aiken-1088631194<![CDATA[

<![CDATA[The Eagle-Tribune: Obituaries]]> (45)

Andover - Adam Aiken, 51, of Andover Massachusetts, passed away on July 28, 2023, surrounded by his family. All those that knew Adam are deeply saddened and feeling a profound loss by his premature death. He was the loving husband for over 23 years of Nancy (Tayebi) Aiken and the loving father of Jack and George Aiken, who survive him.Adam was born to Patti (Lewis) Aiken and the late George Aiken, Jr. on March 9, 1972, and raised in Oklahoma City. Adam grew up with his only sibling, his brother Andrew Aiken.Early in life, Adam demonstrated quick wit and a sharp mind by routinely "backing his parents into a corner" with instant retorts and questions – foreshadowing his legal career. At nearly 10 years old he gained his brother, Andrew Aiken. Both instantly adored one another. Despite the decade age difference, Adam cherished his brother and played an influential role in his life. Even as a teenager, he delighted in taking care of Andrew in the summers while their parents worked.Adam was an excellent student and made school look easy, but his real passions were computers, playing sports and just a little mischief. He was notorious for concocting plans, like spending the night with his friends on the Canadian River and shooting bottle rockets at one another. His dad eventually discovered it and immediately administered the lightest punishment imaginable. His stealth athleticism and quiet determination made him a force in sports at a young age, but he gave them up for golf. His father introduced him to the game, where he would go on to spend many hours at a golf course no matter the season. Over the years, golf became an activity that brought peace, joy and deepened connections with others. Adam's mother's passion for and gifts in music were also passed to Adam. Music was a source of inspiration and creativity. Adam was a self-taught guitarist who was passionate about the act of creating music rather than the accolades of performance. He played in a band in college and performed a memorable set at his wedding. His love for music grew in unexpected ways when he discovered he could build his own guitar from disparate parts purchased for next to nothing online. After high school Adam attended the University of Oklahoma, where he met more lifelong friends, and furthered existing relationships. He finished his college career at the University of Central Oklahoma, where he discovered his love for law and decided to apply to law school. He attended the University of New Hampshire Law School, then known as Franklin Pierce. He thrived at the intensive law school, where he met even more lifelong friends, including his wife, Nancy Tayebi.Nancy and Adam were friends at first, and then best friends by the end of law school. It wasn't until after graduating and moving away that they realized they were meant to be together. They married in 2000, and both practiced law in the New York City area, Raleigh and Andover.Adam was a brilliant attorney who was loved by his clients for his quick solutions-oriented approach and easy manner. During each chapter of his career, he excelled, and created deep connections with those he worked with.In 2005 Adam became a father when his son, Jack was born. Three years later he gained another son, George. When both Jack and George were born, a new and bright light turned on from within that stirred anyone remotely close to him. His newfound focus on his family only grew over the years. The love he displayed to Nancy, Jack and George was unwavering and undergirding. He was selflessly devoted to their happiness, joy and peace. His deep devotion and commitment to his family is a legacy that lives in his sons and is admired by all who knew him. A man of many talents, Adam was a quick study and could learn and apply almost anything, but what was so special was his humility to keep this gift to himself. He loved his hobbies and pursuits for what they were not what they presented. He loved the purity of the experience. Adam's spirit of calmness and quiet confidence was immediately felt by anyone that encountered him. His love, which was so giving and so genuine, stirred an emotion that would make people run through fire to and for him. His family is where his heart is and undoubtedly what he loves and cherishes most in life. Adam is a truly beloved person and his earthly death will not keep all that have known his love from continuing to feel his love.Adam is survived by his wife, Nancy Aiken, his sons, Jack and George Aiken, his mother, Patti (Lewis) Aiken, his brother Andrew Aiken and wife Casey, his nephews and niece, Luke, Callahan, and Sidney Aiken, his father and mother in law Amad and Alexa Tayebi, and his brother in law Ron Tayebi and his wife Dalia, as well as extended family and friends.Relatives and friends are invited to his Visitation on Friday August 4, 2023 at ST. GEORGE ANTIOCHIAN ORTHODOX CHURCH 44 Bowers St. in LOWELL from 4 to 7 P.M. His Funeral Service will be held in the Church on Saturday morning at 10:00 o'clock followed by his burial at the West Parish Cemetery in Andover, MA. E-condolences/directions at www.odonnellfuneralhome.com. In remembrance of Adam Aiken, we ask that donations be directed toward St George Antiochian Orthodox Church in Lowell Massachusetts, or the Esperanza Academy in Lawrence Massachusetts, a local tuition free all-girls school built on justice and centered on joy. Arrangements by Funeral Director James F. O'Donnell, Jr. (978) 458-8768.
