Whilst we love traditional style icecreams, we couldn’t help but share some more Unusual and unique icecream recipes too. Some may say these are Gourmet icecream, but they are certainly ones to make your tastebuds pop. Only you can decide if they POP in a good way or not.

1. Lavender Honey Ice Cream

Ingredients:

  • 2 cups heavy cream
  • 1 cup whole milk
  • 3/4 cup granulated sugar
  • 3 tablespoons dried culinary lavender
  • 4 egg yolks
  • 1/4 cup honey
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract

Instructions:

  1. In a saucepan, combine the heavy cream, whole milk, and dried lavender. Heat gently until it’s just about to simmer. Remove from heat, cover, and let the lavender steep for about 30 minutes.
  2. In a separate bowl, whisk together the egg yolks and granulated sugar until pale and slightly thickened.
  3. Slowly pour the lavender-infused cream mixture into the egg yolks while whisking constantly to temper the eggs.
  4. Return the mixture to the saucepan and cook over low heat, stirring constantly, until it thickens and coats the back of a spoon.

3. Roasted Beet and Dark Chocolate Ice Cream

Ingredients:

  • 2 medium beets, roasted, peeled, and pureed
  • 2 cups heavy cream
  • 1 cup whole milk
  • 3/4 cup granulated sugar
  • 4 oz dark chocolate, finely chopped
  • Pinch of salt
